TV Series Review: Pam and Tommy (2022)

Here at Movieslap.com, you can expect to read brief movie and TV show reviews without a lot of fluff. Think of it as a launching pad to discuss the film with friends, rather than some stuffy person telling you things that you don’t care about. Today, we look at Pam and Tommy (2022).
If you’re reading this, then surely you know who Pam and Tommy are. I grew up in the 80’s, and the hair bands were a big part of my childhood soundtrack. This limited series focuses on the marriage of notorious Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, television star Pamela Anderson, and the infamous sex tape fiasco.
The series starts off strong, with an initial binge worthy stretch of three episodes. Sebastian Stan and Lily James both completely transform into their roles of Pam and Tommy, expertly portraying each nuance and mannerism. In my opinion, these two performances were the best part of the series.
The final five episodes are comprised of peaks and valleys, and this is where the show may lose some viewers. It’s also interesting to note that music doesn’t really factor into the series at all, so if you’re tuning in exclusively for some tunes, you’ll be disappointed: The focus is all about the sex tape. That said, even if you lack interest in these larger than life celebrities, if nothing else, it’s great fun to revisit mid-90s America.
Score: 7.7/10
Starring: Lily James and Sebastian Stan
